Reactivated San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN continue their work at Sonic Room/Audio Voyage Studios in Livermore, California recording their upcoming new album Omega Wave. Album artwork has been commissioned from Kent Mathieu (FORBIDDEN, Exodus, Autopsy, Exhorder). The album is being produced by FORBIDDEN guitarist / songwriter Craig Locicero and Tim Narducci. All tracks will be mixed by Sean Beavan (Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails).
States Locicero:
On
why the band sought out the artist FORBIDDEN’s career began with:
On the dedication of co-producer Tim Narducci: On the talents of mixer Sean Beavan: “Once we finish the recording process, everything gets into the hands of a true genius. I still can't believe how lucky we are to have Sean to do it. Sonically, he's very unique and on a different level. He's produced, engineered, and mixed some of the best sounding material out there. I met Sean through my work with Rick Rubin on the Manmade God record I did in 2003. Sean mixed it and we became friends. I learned a lot from him and he really listened to my input when Rick asked him not to (ha, ha). Sean will make the Forbidden record sound like nothing else going, and that's a great thing! Hopefully everyone will appreciate how cool and organic the tones and performances are. We set out not to make a record that sounds like anyone else besides Forbidden. I don't feel like it could be in any better hands than Sean's to keep the integrity of what we started all the way to the finish line.” As a final comment on the new album, Locicero adds: “Whatever Omega Wave turns out to be will ultimately rest upon my shoulders. I picked the team and that's fine with me. I can live with that.” Song titles on the new FORBIDDEN album are as follows: · Alpha Century · Forsaken At The Gates · Swine · Immortal Wounds · Hopenosis · Adapt Or Die · Inhuman Race · Behind The Mask · Dragging My Casket · Overthrow · Omega Wave The 2010 line-up for FORBIDDEN is Russ Anderson on vocals; Craig Locicero, guitar; Steve Smyth, guitar; Matt Camacho on bass; and Mark Hernandez, drums. The third official release from the almighty GOATSNAKE, this slick, thunderous eight-song slab of doom was initially released in 2000 on the now defunct Man's Ruin label, with Southern Lord handling the vinyl release. After lying dormant without an official pressing of the album in over eight years, the 'Lord now officially brings the album back to the masses on both CD and LP formats. Recorded at Hollywood's Grand Master Studios, and engineered by Nick Raskulinecz (Danzig, Foo Fighters, Probot, Alice In Chains), Flower Of Disease showcased GOATSNAKE elevating their already professional songwriting to new levels, deeply stirring those already following the act's every move and vacuuming in new countless new fans. This is "the release" that would solidify the GOATSNAKE name as one of the top bands of the '90s stoner/doom movement. The GOATSNAKE lineup on Flower Of Disease features members Greg Anderson (SUNN O))), Thorr's Hammer, Southern Lord Recordings), Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool, Desert Sessions), Greg Rogers (The Obsessed), and Stuart Dahlquist (Burning Witch, Asva), as well as guest contributions from Petra Haden and Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal, QOTSA, Mondo Generator). GOATSNAKE recently floored a sold-out audience at their first show in over five years at 2010's Roadburn Festival earlier this month in Tilburg, Holland. Records Ltd. are delighted to announce: SALEM ROSE MUSIC PUBLISHING signs agreements with EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT and I, YOUR LIEGE Salem Rose Music Publishing has announced its publishing cooperation with two very promising new clients – EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT and I, YOUR LIEGE. EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT should be no strangers for those who keep up with underground metal as the technical death/grind quartet from California have been steadily building a very strong story over the past seven years between their two releases and their multiple tours, festival appearances and reviews. Having just completed recording their second full-length album, Vivid Enterpretations of the Void, based upon the book Reptilian Agenda, the band are seeking a new record company to release the album. In the meantime, Embryonic Devourment will embark on their next tour co-headlining with Sepsism starting this weekend. Two new songs, “Militarized Reptoids” and “Darken Thy Fluids” have been posted on their myspace page. "We have no doubt that Salem Rose Music will take our band to a higher level. We've seen Marco help bands attain new heights and that is exactly what we are trying to do,” states singer/bassist Austin Spence. “We are overjoyed to be finally working with someone who has achieved legendary status in the metal industry through hard work and dedication. Marco is a cool dude with good vibes, and that’s important in the cutthroat world of Entertainment. " I, Your Liege’s story is a little different as this very young band hails from New York City but in their relative short time together have made an impact on the area’s five boroughs by performing on a number of good shows. Armed with a great sounding EP the quintet have set their minds on breaking out of their area and spreading their reputation. Guitarist Mike Howley had this to add, “We couldn’t be happier working with Marco and his company. His experience and knowledge of the music industry speaks for itself, and we’re really excited about the future of I, Your Liege.” Salem Rose Music began in 2007 as a management company handling the affairs of WARBRINGER, as well as establishing a Music Publishing division handling the administration of works for emerging artists including DIABOLIC, HEXEN, DEVASTATOR, AVENGER OF BLOOD, SEVENTH CALLING and REVENANCE. Since the company, a creative venture from industry vet Marco Barbieri to assist young bands in their ambitions, has begun managing additional artists, including ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and PATHOLOGY, as well as entertaining new avenues like promoting local shows, consulting and producing.

Regain Records Signs Sweden's NECRONAUT
After more than 20 active years within the death metal scene, former Dismember/Carnage drummer Fred Estby needed to express his passion for different kinds of extreme music; a passion he's bore since his youth. In 2008, Estby started writing/recording material with the intention of utilizing one unique vocalist for each song. Dubbed NECRONAUT, the project would become a reality just one year later when the drummer began contacting the many talented metal musicians he had in mind.
Estby is currently finalizing the self-titled NECRONAUT full-length, slated for release later this year via Regain Records. The already-completed cover art was created by Chet Zar, known for his makeup effects for movies such as The Ring, Planet of the Apes and Darkman [http://www.chetzar.com]. Musically, NECRONAUT is a raw slab of old-school metal and while the term “old-school” alone goes a long way in accurately describing the sound that one should expect from Estby and Co., the project is so much more. NECRONAUT's approach is crude and dead simple a la early Bathory and Venom fused with Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, but with an unorthodox, bass-heavy production that allows the album to stand out amongst its peers. The goal was primitive brute force, but because of the manner in which Estby chose to achieve it, he also managed to create an aura of pure malevolence that, prior to this album’s creation, was likely difficult to imagine. The list of musicians we want to mention for now includes: Vocalists: Chris Reifert (Abscess, Autopsy) Hellbutcher (Nifelheim) Tompa Lindberg (Disfear, Lock up) Nicke Andersson (Imperial State Electric, ex-Entombed etc.) Solo Guitarists: Tyrant (Nifelheim, Dagger) Uffe Cederlund (Disfear, ex-Entombed, Principals of Existence) Robert Pehrsson (Death Breath, Dundertåget) Robert “Strings” Dahlqvist (Dundertåget) David Blomqvist (Dismember, Dagger)

Los
Angeles, CA’s ABYSMAL DAWN will begin recording the follow-up album to their
Relapse debut Programmed To Consume this May at Trench Studio in Corona, CA
with John Haddad (PHOBIA, INTRONAUT, HIRAX). The album will be mixed by Erik
Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, VITAL REMAINS, CANNIBAL CORPSE) at his Mana Recording
Studios in St. Petersburg, FL. A fall release date is expected. Death Metal Supergroup CRUCIFYRE Join The Pulverised Roster Pulverised Records is proud to welcome Stockholm, Sweden's CRUCIFYRE to their prestigious underground roster. Formed in 2006, the band features the crushing lineup of vocalist Erik Tormentor Sahlström (General Surgery, Maze Of Torment, Serpent Obscene et al), guitarists TG (The Sun, Morbid) and Urban Skytt (Crematory, Regurgitate, Nasum), bassist Henrik Doltz Nilsson (Dobermann Cult) and drummer Yasin Hillborg (Afflicted). Commented Hillborg of the signing: "Working with Pulverised feels great. It's like we've come home and have been given the chance to do what we do best: deliver auditory terror in the most evil and aggressive way." Added Pulverised label manager Roy Yeo: "With present and past members from such highly respected bands, it is really interesting to see what these guys could come up with. I can only say that the debut album has exceeded my expectations! CRUCIFYRE is exactly the kind of band that displayed the attitude of those early demo bands and with the integral nastiness that death metal should be known for." CRUCIFYRE's debut full-length will be released via Pulverised Records later this year. Further info to follow....

Danish modern metallers MNEMIC recently teamed up with renowned
Swedish director/producer Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company (Dimmu
Borgir, Lacuna Coil, In Flames) to film a video for "Diesel Uterus," a track
off their latest album Sons Of The System. KINGS OF MODESTY FINISH NEW VIDEO FOR STANDOUT TRACK, “NEVER TOUCHED THE RAINBOW” Finland’s finest prog metal export, Kings of Modesty, are gearing up to take it to the next level toward their quest for global domination, with a striking new video for a standout track from their forthcoming full length debut (‘Hell or High Water’), titled “Never Touched the Rainbow.” Shot in an unmistakably David Lynch-esque style, the story line focuses on a gentleman who turns out to be delusional, and is “hanging between two worlds.” Directed by Carda Helenius, the video was shot in Helsinki (at Hotel Vaakuna and Finland's top nightclub, Tiger), while the main characters are played by Karri Leino and Päivi Salminen. Comprised of members Jason Flinck (vocals), Samuel Hjelt (guitar), Mikael Hjelt (keyboards), Henrik Tuura (bass), and Raino Simoinen (drums), Kings of Modesty will be releasing ‘Hell or High Water’ on May 4th in the US, and are aiming to tour behind it. “Hammering melodic metal” (in the vein of Queensryche, Dream Theater, and Kamelot) is a spot-on description of the style that the quintet specialize in, and the song “Never Touched the Rainbow” - and its accompanying video - serve as the perfect taster for this fast-rising group of headbangers. LYZANXIA
are proud to announce the release of their highly anticipated 4th studio
album Locust on May 31st 2010 on XIII Bis Records-Sony Music
Distribution and have the pleasure to officially unveal the album cover
designed by Alain Tréhard. The Potvin brothers have been
working for many years with artist Tréhard and feel that he has
captured the ominous essence of Locust with a visual piece that superbly
complements the intensity unleashed within as the band’s signature thrash
riff mastery promises to be at its deadliest yet! DIABOLIC has returned from our Tour Dates with CANNIBAL CORPSE on the “Evisceration Plague” Tour and it was a great success!! Due to 1349 not being able to join the Tour on the first few dates, DIABOLIC were invited to join the Tour at the last minute, and we were able to play the following shows: After 1349 was able to join the Tour in NY, unfortunately that meant the end of the Tour for us - we had stepped up and done exactly what we had set out to do, and it was time to head back to Tampa - but as a bonus, the fans in NY got to see DIABOLIC as well as 1349 on the same bill!! DIABOLIC played classic favorites such as “Supreme Evil”, “Marked for Banishment”, “Ancient Hatred”, and “Extinction Level Event”, in addition to showcasing new songs such as “Evil in Disguise” and the Title Track from our upcoming new CD, “Excisions of Exorcisms”. At our headlining show in Philly we played an extended set, to include even more new songs, such as “Hellish World”, “Venomous Habitations”, and “Bloodwashed”. It was great for the band to get back out on the road, and seeing our fans (old and new) was awesome!! We got a great response, sold almost completely out of merchandise, handed out dozens of copies of Deathgasm Recs Promo/Comp CD’s featuring Track #1 our new song “Evil in Disguise” and got a killer buzz going for our new CD, “Excisions of Exorcisms”!!
DIABOLIC would like to give special thanks to the bands: LECHEROUS NOCTURNE, for opening the show for us every night, even letting us borrow their guitar and bass cabs to help the shows run more smoothly (thanks bros!) and to SKELETONWITCH for being so cool and supportive, and especially to CANNIBAL CORPSE, for inviting us to play these Tour Dates!! Thank you to Evan from Deathgasm Records for hooking us up with killer merchandise, to Marco Barbieri and Salem Rose Music, for helping us to make it happen! Thanks to the promoters, Chris in Philly for hooking us up at the last minute! Also special thanks to Jarrod Pritchard for running live sound for us every night! Thanks to Nick Storch at ICM Talent, and to CANNIBAL’s Tour Manager, Pete Robertson, for helping us get onboard and up to speed!! A huge mega-thanks to Aly Webster for the cool live pics!! And thanks to Alex, Pat, Paul, George, and Rob for just being killer dudes and delivering a crushing set every night!! We thank you very much for the opportunity, and we’ll see you again next time!!
Stay tuned to our web sites on MySpace (www.myspace.com/diabolic666) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/diabolic.metal) for live photos from the shows, and our new CD “EXCISIONS OF EXORCISMS” coming soon on Deathgasm Records!!! -- KELL -- DIABOLIC www.facebook.com/diabolic.metal

The new RAGE album, Strings To A Web, was released in Europe on February 5th via Nuclear Blast Records, immediately entering the German pop charts at number 27, and has been receiving rave reviews from all major European press. The brilliant album will now see official North American release and distribution via Canada's Sonic Unyon Metal on June 22nd, 2010.
The North American version of the album will be released in a special two-disc set that includes a high quality bonus DVD bearing 15 live RAGE clips and more. The main part is the "Best Of" show RAGE played at the Wacken Open Air festival 2009, including guest performances by Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Schmier (Destruction) and Jen Majura (Black Thunder Ladies). The DVD also includes four more live clips taken from Masters Of Rock 2009 Festival and a 2009 concert in Sofia, Hungary. View the full track listing for the combo and more below.
Since 1985, German metal trio RAGE have brought their crafted style of classic heavy metal with class. Their new album Strings To A Web is a varied release, showcasing the different faces of the band; pure heavy metal thunder, classical and progressive landscapes, and powerful thrash anthems. Recorded at Twilight Hall Studio (Blind Guardian, Saxon) and produced by Victor Smolski and their long term friend Charlie Bauerfeind (Hammerfall, Helloween and more), Strings To A Web is like a journey through the history of the band, who celebrated their 25th anniversary this year. Over the past quarter century, RAGE went through many changes, but always kept to their roots and developed their incomparable style, and there is no doubt that their current lineup is the strongest yet. Peavy Wagner's voice is the main trademark, along with the guitar wizard Victor Smolski and power drummer André Hilgers, who round out the magical trio.

LEGENDARY GUITARIST ROBBY KRIEGER SET TO RELEASE NEW SOLO ALBUM SINGULARITY ON OGLIO RECORDS, JUNE 29th, 2010 LOS ANGELES, CA (June, 2010) Robby Krieger returns with a new instrumental solo album, Singularity, on Oglio Records, a Fontana/Universal distributed label. On Singularity, Robby continues to explore his unique flamenco infused jazz-rock sound as heard on his previous album for Oglio Records, Cinematix. Singularity was produced by Robby Krieger and Arthur Barrow, features an original Krieger painting as the cover art and will also be available on vinyl.
"SINGULARITY" was named after my painting which we used for the album cover. A singularity is a profound event such as the "big bang", which was the creation of the universe. I could have started with something smaller, such as, say the destruction of a galaxy or two, but I figured what the hell. Hopefully, the music evokes thoughts along those lines. I’m very happy, that after all these years I was able to record some flamenco guitar, which comprises the intros for two of the songs, 'Russian Caravan" and "Event Horizon" . I’m also very happy with some of the slide guitar such as on "Southern Cross" and "Waterslide" - Robby Krieger
During his time as The Doors guitarist, Robby wrote some of the band’s best known songs including “Light My Fire”, “Love Me Two Times”, “Love Her Madly” and “Touch Me”. He was also voted in at #91 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time and in 2009, Robby partnered with the Gibson Guitar Corporation to release his very own limited edition signature guitar, the ‘Inspired By Krieger SG’.
Robby Krieger rejoins his fellow The Doors member, Ray Manzarek, who also released his own solo record, “Love Her Madly” on Oglio Records, in their group Manzarek-Krieger for a new tour beginning May 27th.

KILLING MACHINE PREPARE FOR EUROPEAN DEBUT
KILLING MACHINE - the US metal band featuring ex members of Slayer, Testament ,Startovarius and Temple Of Brutality, recently relocated to Europe and have issued an update on preparations for their upcoming European debut. The band are confirmed to play several high profile shows throughout the summer and launches with two shows in France later this month as support to AC / DC.
Having had a few days to settle in to their new European surroundings, guitarist Peter Scheithauer found time to talk about the move saying "We got to our base in France about a week ago and headed straight in to rehearsals. We had a few small problems at first but it's going really well now and we can't wait to get out there and play some shows. Since we made the decision to fully concentrate on Killing Machine, we started getting a lot of interest from around Europe. So it made sense to set up base over here rather than going backwards and forwards across the Atlantic. We've got some busy times ahead and we're really looking forward to spreading our metal around Europe."
On the subject of their upcoming European debut Scheithauer said: "Well it's taken two albums but we finally get the chance to show our European fans what we are all about. We've had many requests to come over in the past but never got round to it. But we're finally here and what away to kick it all off - supporting AC/DC!!! We're all hyped up and looking forward to hanging out with the European metalheads."
KILLING MACHINE, recently confirmed former Evergrey / Stratovarius bass guitarist Jari Kainulainen as a permanent member of the band, are stirring up a lot of interest in Europe having lined up a number of high profile show and festival appearances. More shows are expected to be confirmed imminently. . The bands' schedule is shaping up as follows: 15 June - Parc Des Sports Charles Ehrmann, Nice, FRANCE www.gdp.fr (supporting AC/DC) 18 June - Stade De France, Paris, FRANCE www.gdp.fr (supporting AC/DC) 26 June - Graspop Metal Meeting, Dessel, BELGIUM www.graspop.be 29 July - Headbangers Open Air, Brande-Hörnerkirchen, near Elmshorn, GERMANY www.headbangers-open-air.de 6 August - Rock Nights Festival, Zarasai, LITHUANIA www.rocknights.lt 7 August - Wacken Open Air, Wacken, GERMANY www.wacken.com 13 August - Bulldog Bash, Long Marston, UK www.bulldogbash.eu 15 August - Bloodstock Open Air, Catton Hall, Derbyshire, UK www.bloodstock.uk.com
KILLING MACHINE current line up is Csaba Zvekan (Sardonyx) - Vocals, Peter Scheithauer (Temple of Brutality / Belladonna) - Guitar, Jari Kainulainen (Evergrey / Stratovarius) - Bass Guitar and Jon Dette (Slayer / Testament) - Drums.
KILLING MACHINE have released two albums, the self titled 'Killing Machine' in 2000 via Candlelight Records and the critically acclaimed 'Metalmorphis' in 2006 via Mausoleum Records which has been hailed by many as one of the all time classic metal albums. The two albums featured a multitude of musicians including James Rivera (HELSTAR, VICIOUS RUMOURS), Jimmy DeGrasso (Y&T), Juan Garcia (AGENT STEEL), Dave Ellefson (MEGADETH), Stet Howland (WASP), Mike Duda (WASP), Mike Vescara (OBSESSION, LOUDNESS)
WATAIN: Lawless Darkness Unleashed Band Devours Baltimore; Nabs Cover Of This Month's Edition of Decibel Magazine
The wait is now over: Lawless Darkness, the long-anticipated fourth full-length from Swedish black metal battalion WATAIN, is out now through Season Of Mist. The ten-track, hour-plus long work of blasphemy was recorded at Necromorbus Studio (Deathspell Omega, Funeral Mist, Ondskapt, Nominon, Unanimated et al) in Alvik, Sweden and features strikingly detailed cover art by Zbigniew M. Bielak.
The band ushered in the release of Lawless Darkness with a soul-crushing headlining set the first night of the Maryland Deathfest on Memorial Day weekend. Commented frontman E. of the performance: "Back from the States now, still with blisters and bruises from the victorious storm unleashed at Maryland Deathfest. Hail to the legions of WATAIN supporters who came out to partake in our performance; you have truly grown both in number and dedication! We very much look forward to return for a full scale onslaught later this year. More about that later..." Commented Canada's Hellbound.ca of the spectacle: "With lit candles, militant red flag-like things, and some corpse paint that I’m sure even Tom Savini would compliment, their visual aesthetic was certainly in tow...the crowd enhanced the horror movie like mood as it tossed a Bible around, tearing it to shreds, sending the ripped pages into the air like confetti at a kid’s birthday party...The music: appropriately blasphemous."
In conjunction with the release of Lawless Darkness, WATAIN appears on the cover of the July 2010 issue of Decibel Magazine which went on sale last week. The eight-page feature was conducted by J. Bennett and is clearly one of the most revealing pieces on the band to date. To order a copy, visit: http://store.decibelmagazine.com/collections/back-issues/products/july-2010-069
"Lawless Darkness shall be seen as a monument erected in honor of that collapse and a dedication to all those brave souls, who have willingly dared to venture the winding paths towards it." -- E. Danielsson, WATAIN
Let there be sacrifice. ..........
"Darkthrone were once 'for all the evil in man," but WATAIN turn good men evil." -- 8/10 Decibel
"No band in the 'troo' black metal scene carries as much weight as WATAIN at the moment. Sparing the drama of Burzum, and the inconsistency of Dimmu and Mayhem, WATAIN finds itself in the same spot Emperor found itself in at the end of '90s." -- Blistering
"With this record, E. Danielsson and WATAIN have definitely created a blasphemous juggernaut that is not to be taken lightly. The band are clearly staking their claim to more territory in the battle for the black metal crown." -- Forbidden

Miami rock trio, Shroud Eater, offers free download of debut EP MIAMI – Shroud Eater, South Florida’s DIY grunge/stoner rock trio, is offering a free download of their debut self-titled EP, in anticipation of the release of their debut full-length record, ThunderNoise, due out this fall. Inspired by all things dark and dirty, including 70’s heavy metal, and 90’s grunge/stoner rock, the three-song EP can be downloaded at: http://www.raig.ru/AT_shroudeater.asp. “We had always seen the EP as a way to distribute our music for free to as many people as possible - it's a basic primer on who Shroud Eater is as a band, and hopefully it left people curious and interested in hearing what we can really bring to the table,” states guitarist/vocalist Jeannie Saiz. “For the ThunderNoise sessions, we have some surprises up our sleeves, and are positive that the finished album will rock your ass off.”
The
EP was recorded last year at Relax, Bro! recording studio, in the band’s
hometown of Miami, and it was mixed and mastered by Jonathan Nunez. Artwork
comes courtesy of Shroud Eater’s own Jeannie Saiz.
The track list for the EP is… 1.) We Are Beasts 2.) Vesuvius 3.) Cyclone “The EP is a sludgy, doom-a-riffic slab of bottom-feeding metal that could have been reared in the mucky Florida swamps alongside alligators and slithery snakes.” – Noisecreep.com “Two ladies and one dude kick up a mighty hurricane in Miami. They're like if Kylesa cut out the prog and played straight-up noise rock.” – Decibel Magazine “There's also something very South Florida in them in the vein of Cavity and Black Cobra. The opening demonic sizzler ‘We Are Beasts’ (I feel the same way) and ‘Vesuvius’ are excellent compositions, and Ms. Saiz's vocals are soul-damaging, which is a good thing in this context.” - Miami New Times The EP is also available for streaming on the band’s official MySpace page at: http://www.myspace.com/shroudeaterrocks, while a music video for the record’s opening track, “We Are Beasts”, can be viewed at: http://vimeo.com/7033153 (directed and edited by Alvarez Bros. Productions). Shroud Eater solidified their line-up in January 2009, sporting a sound of down-tuned, overdriven guitars, a thunderous rhythm section, and raw vocals of impassioned fury. After only a few short months, the band hit the Miami rock scene like a hurricane with the release of their debut EP later that winter. Shroud Eater will once again head into Relax, Bro! this summer to begin recording their full length debut, ThunderNoise. The band will call on the acclaimed Nick Zampiello (Torche, Converge, Against Me) of New Alliance East for mastering. Stay tuned for more information!

Björn “Speed” Strid of Swedish modern metallers SOILWORK makes a guest appearance on the debut album by REVAMP, former After Forever singer Floor Jansen’s new band. REVAMP’s self-titled new album will be released in North America on July 27th.
Strid shares: “Actually, I have never met Floor in real life, but I do remember being impressed when I heard her voice the first time, though. She's got balls. She had a certain song in mind [‘In Sickness ‘Till Death Do Us Part: Disdain’], sent me the music and a lyric sheet while I was in the studio with SOILWORK, and gave me a bit of guidance but also wanted me to improvise a bit. I spent a day working out my lines in a tower of the house we were renting in Mooresville, North Carolina also known as ‘The Genie Room." Perfect. I recorded the vocals sometime in February while drinking some wine. With the intense verse and the open atmospheric chorus, it felt perfect as a duet! To me it's about betrayal and being let down.”
States Jansen: “I am always inspired to write new music, but I must say that the end of After Forever and some personal changes in my life did give extra ingredients. Every song I heard could become a source of inspiration. Stories of others, movies or books, my personal relationships, everything mixed and melted into one and became an album. ‘Speed’ from SOILWORK brings another form of power to the album’s diversity with his screams/growl and clean voice. He masters so many different vocal sounds, just like me. Again, a lot of power together in one song. He gave ‘Disdain’ the energy and aggression it needed!”
Also performing guest vocals on Revamp is Russell Allen from SYMPHONY X and George Oosthoek from ORPHANAGE & PLEURISY.
The track listing for Revamp is:

Greek old-school thrash assassins SUICIDAL ANGELS' new full-length Sanctify The Darkness will see North American release on Sonic Unyon Metal in mere weeks.
Already released across Europe on Nuclear Blast in November of 2009, the album will see official release in North America on June 22nd, 2010, and will mark SUICIDAL ANGELS' first official North American release, versus being imported from Europe on previous releases. The band's solid, no-bullshit attack has already reaped massive press and fan response across much of the world, and the crunchy, hellish riff attacks on the eleven meaty tracks composing Sanctify The Darkness will now attack the Americas, who are always prime for a pungent new thrash unit to infiltrate and go on the rampage. Denim and leather-clad bullet-belt rockers of the land everywhere are surely ready to embrace the jaw-clenching riff attacks and swift thrash justice SUICIDAL ANGELS execute.
The North American version of Sanctify The Darkness will include two bonus music videos for album tracks "Apokathilosis" and "Beyond The Laws of Church".

In a recent interview with Synthesis.net that previews the band’s record release show in Chico, California, EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt talk about the European response to the band, the oil fuck-up in the gulf, and the late, great Ronnie James Dio. Here’s an excerpt: “I went up to introduce myself [at The Foundation Forum in L.A.] because he’s one of my heroes. Rainbow is like my favorite band of all time. ‘Hi, my name’s Gary. I’m supporting you on this next [Dehumanizer] tour and I’m really excited about it.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, it will be great, it will be a lot of fun.’ Three weeks, maybe even longer, later, it’s the first day of the tour and he waved and said hi and goes, ‘Hey Gary, how’s it goin’?’ (Chuckles) I didn’t expect him to remember my name the whole tour, but he remembered it from a conversation a month earlier. That’s that kind of guy he was. He’s a lion of a vocalist… the greatest metal vocalist of all time. It’s a tragic loss for heavy metal and the hard rock world.” Read the entire interview here. On Friday, June 11th, Stickam.com will stream the EXODUS record release show live from Hollywood at The Key Club beginning at 10:45 p.m. PACIFIC. The band’s final record release show will be this Saturday, June 12th in San Francisco at Slim's with Heathen, Anvil Chorus, and Passive Aggressive. Tickets are on sale here. Already being dubbed as an incredibly original and ultimately creepy by those who have acquired an LP, the dense, diverse seven tracks on All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood could ultimately be one of the most twisted releases in recent doom metal history. While the main destruction caused by THE BODY is born of its two main members, the unit frequently join forces with other rogue assassins and collectives of musical militia on stage to bring their hymns to life. On All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood, the duo have teamed up with The Assembly Of Light Choir, adding a totally mind engulfing, spine-chilling and downright freaky twist to the band's devastating doom. This afternoon, Brooklyn Vegan is helping us spread the word on this tumultuous act by premiering the second track from All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood entitled "A Curse." Tune in and drop out: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2010/06/the_body_releas.html Also view the album artwork, new band photos, live video and more at this location: http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/?p=813 All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood is set to see an official CD release via At A Loss on July 27th, 2010. PRO-PAIN: North American Release Date Confirmed
A confirmed North American release date for the massive thirteenth full-length from longtime crossover champions PRO-PAIN, Absolute Power, has been set for later this summer.
To be released in North America this August 10th, 2010 via Regain Records, Absolute Power explores several sides to the tried-and-true American unit's somewhat patented sound. While a vast chunk of the album immediately recalls standard PRO-PAIN NYC-style metal/hardcore crossover attacks, many elements at play on Absolute Power infiltrate totally new ground for the band. Recorded at Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden, Switzerland, the record features ten thunderous anthems, bridging the gap between the hardcore club and the massive rock arena.
Formed by vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil (ex-Crumbsuckers), New York-based PRO-PAIN have over the years benefited from substantial support from an ever-growing and loyal fanbase as well as metal media and radio. Today, now joined by long term guitarist Tom Klimchuck, as well as newer members Marshall Stephens on rhythm guitar and Ricky Halverson (ex-Narcotic Self, Cellador, Stephen Pearcy's RATT) on drums, the band's worldwide catalog sales approaches one million units.
Plans for the band to tour the US and Europe extensively in support of Absolute Power are beyond imminent, they're a reality, as the band has secured a stack of German dates this summer [see below]. More tour actions are in the planning stages and will be announced shortly.
Absolute Power Track Listing: 01. Unrestrained 02. Destroy The Enemy 03. Stand My Ground (featuring Schmier from Destruction) 04. Road To Nowhere 05. AWOL 06. Hell On Earth 07. Divided We Stand 08. Gone Rogue (I Apologize) 09. Rise Of The Antichrist 10. Hate Coalition

Santa Cruz CA’s tech-death masters, DECREPIT BIRTH, have revealed the artwork for their upcoming Polarity album, to be released on July 27th in North America on Nuclear Blast Records. The artwork was completed by cult artist Dan Seagrave (MORBID ANGEL, ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION, etc.) and can be viewed here http://decibelmagazine.com/Content.aspx?ncid=374702. Guitarist Matt Sotelo explained the meaning behind the cover:
"Dan's art fits the overall theme of the album perfectly. We had approached Dan with some ideas at a show of ours he attended. It was really cool to finally meet Dan in person and get the chance to explain to him some of our song themes as well as ideas for the new album cover. We could tell that he was excited to help us on this one! The cover depicts images of ancient energies and balance, which is something that is personal for us, and perfectly reflects our abstract lyrical and musical style. Dan's art is so unmistakable!"

FORBIDDEN ISSUE STUDIO REPORT #3
The following are excerpts of an on-going studio report written by Craig Locicero, guitarist/songwriter of the reunited Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN. The band are currently at Sonic Room/Audio Voyage Studios in Livermore, California tracking bass, guitar, and vocals. The as-yet-untitled album is being produced by Craig Locicero and Tim Narducci (Forbidden/Systematic/Spiral Arms). Friday March 12th: This was my week to begin tracking… I'd been jonesin' pretty hard after all those years. After we got back from L.A., I had to make numerous trips around the Bay grabbing pieces of gear and getting my guitars set up to be tracking worthy. [I] only had one day off after 8 days on. Necessary evil, if you will. So after I got all of the gear into Sonic Room/Audio Voyage, [producer] Tim Narducci, Brad Barth and myself started mixing and matching amps and cabs. We tried shit-tons of stuff… a short list of the possibilities to work with: 2 different Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers, Randall Ultra Module, Line 6/Bogner 100wt HD, '94 Peavy 5150, '10 EVH 5150 and my original '94 prototype Langner pre-amp! As far as cabs go we had Marshalls and Randalls stacked out the door. This place has never had that much shit inside of it. I used a combination of 3 amps and 4 cabs and it sounds awesome! Very distinct, clear and crunchy mids. I've never been more stoked about my tones. Our good friend, Pat Coughlin, who produced and recorded Distortion [FORBIDDEN’s third studio album, released in 1995] and Green [FORBIDDEN’s fourth studio album from 1997] came down and brought a couple of mics for me to use. [He] mixed us live on many occasions in our past and the entire '09 European run. It was great seeing him and we always have a good laugh. He tried to help us get a hum out of the line of amps.... When we finally did, it was fucking silent. That is very rare when using more then two amps in line. After we got the tone close, we left to save our ears for the next day. Saturday March 13th: After we re-tweaked the tone, we were off at the races. I double track everything, so it HAS to be perfect. We hit 'Overthrow' first and it went pretty quickly. It's more of a mid-tempo cruncher that barrels along like an earth mover. The middle of that song has some Randy Rhoads-era Ozzy-style chording in it, very dark and cool. Next up was 'Omega Wave' which is very much a thrash-style song, an extremely fast muthafucker! That was more of a challenge and a lot fun to play. Super heavy song. Sunday March 14th: This day was a bit more challenging for me. We tracked a song called 'Swine' that has a lot of tempo changes and starts out super slow and heavy. I had a hell of a time making it as serpentine as I was hearing it, but we nailed it after half a day. 'Swine' is one of our favorite songs and worth all of the work to make right. The next song is called 'Immortal Wounds' and is very much a Distortion-era style chugger. Reminds me of “Hypnotized By The Rhythm' [the second track off of 1995’s Distortion] a little bit. Super tight, but with a thrash solo section that is one of the fastest we have. It strobes and does some really cool stuff. View more studio pictures and read the full studio report here. The 2010 line-up for FORBIDDEN is Russ Anderson on vocals; Craig Locicero, guitar; Steve Smyth, guitar; Matt Camacho on bass; and Mark Hernandez, drums. commented: IMMORTAL’S DEMONAZ LAUGHS OVER INTERNET PARODIES
In Revolver Magazine’s interview with Demonaz of the Norwegian black metal band IMMORTAL, the lyricist and founding member goes on record about internet parodies and expresses a sense of humor about it. He states: “All this manipulating of IMMORTAL pictures on the net and all this video stuff like ‘The Call Of The Wintermoon’ video we did, the first video… That was just a total mistake. It was out of our hands. There was this TV company who just wanted to do this thing with us and we said ‘OK.’ And it was out of our hands suddenly. What can you do? It came out, and now it’s on YouTube for everybody to see, and I thought, That’s shit. That’s fucked. But then I saw they had manipulated it; they had made like a Benny Hill version of it with the Benny Hill music and the fast-forward filming. And then I thought, Fucking hell, that’s funny. That’s really funny. Now I can finally laugh about it, too. [Laughs]” Read the interview here. Remaining tour dates for IMMORTAL’s Blashyrkh In North America 2010 are as follows: All Shall Fall, the band’s first new album in seven years, debuted at #7 on the Heatseekers Album chart (new & developing artists who have never appeared in the Top 100 of the Billboard Top 200 chart) and at #162 on the Billboard 200 for selling 3,300 copies its first week of release in North America. New NECROPHOBIC Video Unleashed; Band To Play Maryland Deathfest 2010 NECROPHOBIC are one of very few bands left from the early Swedish black/death metal underground scene that is still going strong. Sharing members of Nifelheim, Trident and more the band are considered a cult act from the old days, yet also remain a potent source for inspiration for today's scene. "Revelation 666" - the track this brutal new video accompanies - was described by Outburn Magazine as "...an awesome flurry of charred, angel stabbing thrash/death with a manic chorus and an epic outro".
The NECROPHOBIC crew will also be storming American shores this May as part
of the almighty Maryland Deathfest, appearing alongside Watain, Possessed,
Autopsy, Sodom, Obituary, Entombed and countless other top legendary and
contemporary metal acts. Check the full lineup at:
http://www.marylanddeathfest.com. "...this one is a blast to endure and best played at maximum volume for the ultimate near-death experience. Thrash-influenced Swedish guitar riffs fill this disc to overflowing..." - SOD Magazine "Death to All follows in the hoofprints of 2006’s Hrimthursum, hitching a bulletproof blackthrash rhythm section to Dissection’s obsidian guitar tonalities. Necrophobic’s attack has gotten sharper with age, their songs ever stronger." - Decibel Magazine "...the band's undiminished passion for their demonic art bursts forth like that of most satanic metal whippersnappers half their age, which should guarantee Necrophobic's ability to keep bringing Death to All ages of extreme metal fans for many years to come." - All Music Guide http://www.myspace.com/regainrecords OBITUARY Receive Best Underground Band Nomination

The video is for "Evil Power," the title track to the band's menacing upcoming fourth full-length release. Directed by Ryan Oliver of cult horror cinema company Deathblow Productions, the video features more blood, gore, violence and nudity in under three-and-a-half minutes than some full-length slasher films, and shall prove to be one of the most cruel videos in the history of heavy metal. Watch innocent virgins being offered up to the massive minotaur for sacrifice. Reel in horror during the evisceration and dismemberment of these beauties while your head bangs uncontrollably to LOTM's thunderous soundtrack. Stop by the Deciblog on April Fool's Day to witness the carnage!!! http://decibelmagazine.com/blog/ And stop by the Earsplit Compound to check out the graphic flyer for the video, artwork and more: http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/?p=318 Set for release April 13th on the band's own The Grind-House Records, Evil Power was recorded by Sanford Parker in the band's Chicago stomping grounds. Comprised of Centurions Steve Rathbone (vocals/bass), Chris Wozniak (drums) and introducing new bassist Nate Olp (Demiricous), LOTM's patented Greek mythology-inspired brutality continues on Evil Power, laying all in its path to waste with a stripped-down approach as heavy as the Kraken, while showing off the LOTM's punk and crossover influences. Evil Power will be in stores and available via digital download on iTunes, Amazon mp3, eMusic, Lala, Shockhound, Napster, Zune, Rhapsody, LimeWire, IMVU and Myspace Music on April 13, 2010, and the CD will also be available direct from the band/label Thursday, April 1st, in conjunction with the video premiere. The record will be distributed by Southern Lord Records, who have released the band's previous three albums on CD and vinyl, two EPs and DVD. The first leg tour promoting the release will kick off the week of the album's release as well, with plenty more to be announced throughout the year. LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR Evil Power Spring Tour: "So primitive is Evil Power, in fact, that it’s like moving from a Bronze Age sword to a straightforward mace, and it just might wind up being the band’s masterstroke." - Decibel Magazine "It's good to see a band of their stature looking to expand their audience the old fashioned way - by starting up their own label and putting out a solid as fuck record." - Stonerrock.com "Their sound is still based on some of the most pummeling metal the US has ever produced, but several of their tracks show an affinity for hard rock riffing that reminds of Entombed..." - The Obelisk "Celebrating bloody violence in ways your average videogame designer would never dare, Lair of the Minotaur is arguably the ultimate catharsis for the vengeful misfit in all of us." - Sleazegrinder http://www.lairoftheminotaur.com http://www.myspace.com/lairoftheminotaur

TEXTURES ANNOUNCE NEW FRONT MAN
De Jongh had to say this about joining TEXTURES:
"I
am truly honored to have been asked to replace Eric as vocalist for TEXTURES.
TEXTURES is a standout band which I've listened to the last couple of years,
like so many other metal-fans out there. Although it was a pretty tough
decision to leave my former band Cilice, this was an offer I just couldn't
refuse. The guys in TEXTURES are just a great bunch of people and it is clear
that there is and will be loads of inspiration for the next years to come. I
also know how much Eric was respected by the fans and I hope that I can
assure you guys out there that I will replace him with as much dignity as he
did for TEXTURES the last 6 years. All I can say is that we as TEXTURES are
ready to rock everyone out there and that the anticipation for the next album
can be withhold. We are in writing process at the time and I can reveal that
it is going to be kick-ass, as always!! We will see you guys soon!!" "It was really hard for us to part ways with Eric. Emotionally and musically. But Daniel gives us more than enough reasons to prolong our career, more hyped up than ever before. His experience, personality, musical taste and of course, his awesome vocal skills, make us see the future like a first spring morning after a severe winter-darkness. TEXTURES 2.0 has just been launched!” New vocalist Daniel de Jongh will make his live debut on a select number of shows this summer which will be announced soon. TEXTURES joined the Nuclear Blast roster in June 2009. And it’s this exact time period that is focused on throughout Triumph’s new “best of” set - ‘Greatest Hits: Remixed’ - which will be released on May 18, 2010. All of the classic tunes that were - and continue to be - in heavy rotation on rock radio (and the early days of MTV) are included here, namely, “Lay it on the Line,” “Hold On,” “Fight the Good Fight,” “Magic Power,” etc. These fourteen tracks of anthemic metal have never sounded so good, as they were all recently remixed by Rich Chycki (who has previously worked with Aerosmith and Rush). The set also includes a previously unreleased recording - “Love Hurts” - which will be the lead-off single from Triumph’s ‘Greatest Hits: Remixed.’ "We have been planning this release forever," says Levine. "For years, Triumph fans have been demanding that we give them a fresh greatest hits package and they are going to love this one." Also included in the set is a DVD mixed in 5.1 audio, that features eleven promo and live videos in widescreen (plus additional unreleased videos for “Child of the City,” “Blinding Light Show,” and “Love Hurts,” and footage of the group’s 2008 induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame). The deluxe two-disc package will be housed in a six-panel digipak – including a 20-page color booklet, complete with liner notes, lyrics, and chockfull of vintage photos. Whether you’re a long-time Triumph fanatic or a new convert, you have never heard the group as crystal clear and loud n’ proud as you will throughout ‘Greatest Hits: Remixed.’ "’Greatest Hits: Remixed’ rocks like no other Triumph set,” declares Moore. “This is the definitive Triumph collector’s edition. WATAIN's Dark Law We hereby announce the title of the fourth WATAIN album to be released on June 7th; Its name shall be Lawless Darkness! "The title symbolizes the unbound chaotic potential of that which is void of light", frontman E. comments. "The light that defines, the light that shapes and restricts. The light by which the forces of law and order uphold their reign. In the absence of that light lies the wellspring of WATAIN: in Lawless Darkness. "With this album and in all of our efforts with WATAIN we aim to capture the hungry madness and glimmering purity of darkness beyond illusion, the void that holds all yet where naught is manifest, the primordial tomb into which all the vanity of man and his creation shall collapse: indeed, The Lawless Darkness! "Lawless Darkness shall be seen as a monument erected in honour of that collapse and a dedication to all those brave souls, who have willingly dared to venture the winding paths towards it."
"Shed not thy light on me
"Let not thy rays caress me In other news, WATAIN will return to the United States once again in late May as part of the annual aural offensive known as the Maryland Deathfest, appearing with Sodom, Obituary, Entombed, Possessed, Necrophobic and countless more. See the complete fest lineup at: http://www.marylanddeathfest.com. And, after completing the regular portion of their set at this year's Sweden Rock Festival in on June 12th, WATAIN will return to the stage for a unique 45-minute tribute concert featuring classic Bathory songs. The event promises to be even more special as the Bathory part of WATAIN's performance will be introduced by none other than late Bathory mainman Quorthon's father and producer, Börje "Boss" Forsberg. "It feels great to have Boss participating in a part of the show, since he, in a way, is the only living link to the Bathory myth," says E. "It will still be a tribute show and nothing else, but we are, of course, honored to be able to do it with his blessing!" http://www.myspace.com/watainofficial

THE LAST FELONY SIGNS WITH LIFEFORCE RECORDS GERMANY – Lifeforce Records is proud to announce the signing of one of the most exciting young death metal acts, The Last Felony, from Montreal, Canada. ''Our search for a new label is finally over,'' guitarist Dominic Grimard comments. ''We are extremely proud to be joining the Lifeforce family. This label has housed so many great bands, whether it be past or present, which in effect, makes this deal that much more exciting for us. "Lately, we have been stalled in our search for a label with an open mind in terms of extreme music, and Lifeforce seems like the perfect fit for us for obvious reasons. We are grateful for this opportunity which Stefan Luedicke and the Lifeforce family have given us, and are anxious to see what the future holds for our band. "We are currently set to release our new full length album Too Many Humans, due in summer this year. This partnership opens vast opportunities in terms of touring outside Canadian soil, so you can expect to see TLF touring somewhere near you shortly.'' Having released their debut, Aeon Of Suffering, with well respected label Galy Records, who already introduced bands like Despised Icon and Beneath the Massacre to the metal world, The Last Felony is now ready to take the world by storm with their new album Too Many Humans, to be released this summer on Lifeforce Records. Since the band was formed in 2005, The Last Felony shared stages with such acts as Mayhem, Cryptopsy, Origin, A Life Once Lost, Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, Beneath The Massacre, Leng T`Che, Neuraxis, Despised Icon, Norther, Ion Dissonance, Dying Fetus, Carnifex & Misery Index. They have also had the chance to appear at such prestigious events as the Trois-Rivieres Metalfest & Terrorfest. The Canadians are focusing on a mixture between technical brutal death metal with discreet traces of black metal. Too Many Humans consists of constant tempo changes and technicality, from fast going blast beats to slowdowns and everything in between. The Last Felony’s first record for Lifeforce will be the soundtrack to our world's demise. The track "Too Many Humans" from the upcoming album can be found on the band's Myspace profile at www.myspace.com/thelastfelony.
