INDIANAPOLIS METAL FEST RETURNS THIS SEPTEMBER

Following a successful 2007 debut, the Indianapolis Metal Fest is returning this September 26 and 27 to prove itself as the Midwest's premiere metal festival.

The festival includes an assortment of headliner-status and personally-chosen unsigned artists, including three bands that will be making their U.S. debuts.  Bands already confirmed are: Dew Scented, Kittie, Divine Heresy, Mustasch, Green Jelly, Daylight Dies, Bleed The Sky, Into Eternity, Ekotren, Skeletonwitch, The Destro, Gigan (ex-Hate Eternal), Psyopus, Level-C, Obszon Geschopf, Black Chapel, Demiricous, Gates of Slumber, Threat Signal, and The Absence.  In all, the festival will host 60 bands over the two days.

With an extensive background in the music business and live show promotion, promoter Rob Mason has modeled the Indianapolis Metal Fest to encompass all sub-genres of metal for a well-rounded and diverse lineup of bands.

"In addition to a great American lineup, we're bringing in bands from Sweden, Germany, France, South America, and Canada," Mason said.  "Mustasch, for example, are huge in Europe.  They recently won the Swedish equivalent of a Grammy award, and they're making their U.S. debut at Indianapolis Metal Fest."

Mason also remains committed to his original vision of shining the spotlight on the Indianapolis metal scene and the bands who grind it out in local venues every day. "Even though the fest has increased in size, I'm very dedicated to the idea that IMF will be a catalyst to present opportunities to local and regional talent," he said.  "A band we put on the stage at IMF last year was signed as a direct result of their performance.  They weren't a local band, but the opportunity was there."

Indianapolis Metal Fest II is presented by Blind Prophecy Records and Roaring Lion Energy Drink, and will be hosted by Mistress Juliya.  Other sponsors include: Sam Ash Music, Jagermeister, Marshall Amplification, 1Vision Records, Halo Custom Guitars, Divirta, Ltd.,Candlelight Records, Dark Star Records, Epitomite Productions, Airplay Direct, Project Independent, Anchor Recordings, Tech 21 NYC,Soul Asylum Poetry and Publishing, and Blastzone Entertainment.

"It helps to have sponsor partners who share your vision, to say the least," Mason said.  "The support of these allow us to put on a quality two-day festival.  We couldn't do it without them."

The show will take place at Madame Walker Theater, located at  617 Indiana Avenue in Indianapolis.  Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 12 and cost $30 in advance/$40 at the door for a two-day admission.  Tickets will be available through www.indianapolismetalfest.com and at select retails locations.

All tickets are general admission.  Indianapolis Metal Fest II is an all ages show.

"Indy Metal Fest was a well organized event that rivals most festivals in the U.S." - Frank Watkins - OBITUARY (Indianapolis Metal Fest I headliner)

"By the time headliners Alabama Thunderpussy and Obituary rocked the Knights of Columbus ballroom late Saturday night, it was already apparent the inaugural running of the Indianapolis Metal Fest was a hit." - Nuvo News Weekly - Indianapolis

Candlelight Records have set September 16 as the American release date of Left to Die, the new EP from Obituary. The EP follows the worldwide success of 2007's Xecutioner's Return and as previously announced includes two brand new songs from the legendary death metal band plus a re-recording of the band's classic "Slowly We Rot," and remake of the Celtic Frost classic "Dethroned Emperor."  The EP additionally contains the band's popular "Evil Ways" video.

Obituary's core of brothers John Tardy (vocals) and Donald Tardy (drums) with guitarist Trevor Peres came together in 1984 forming one of death metal's most successful and respected bands.  Releasing six full-length albums with Roadrunner Records, the band announced their cooperation with England's Candlelight Records in early spring of 2007. Xecutioner's Return was released August 28 to extensive acclaim and supported with full American and European tours. "Xecutioner's Return totally smokes everything they've done since 1992's The End Complete," said Decibel Magazine.  "A tour de force of old school death metal," adds Blabbermouth.

Now finishing up a series of European festival dates, including Germany's famed Wacken and Party.San Open Air festivals, the band kick off their second American tour in Atlanta, Georgia and wrap nearly 30 days later in Charleston, South Carolina.  Confirmed tour dates are noted below.

Candlelight Records today confirms the signing of North Carolina-based sludge/doom metal band Sourvein. The popular five-piece on tour now through August 11 have recorded a special/limited edition EP titled Imperial Bastard which will see domestic release on September 30. It will be followed by the band's Billy Anderson-produced full-length label debut currently planned for release in early 2009.

Formed in 1993, Sourvein relocated to Cape Fear, North Carolina after Hurricane Katrina ravaged their long-time home base. Blacktide Music says, "ominous riffs, which launch into despair-ridden breakdowns the likes of which would make Eyehategod tremble with fear." Currently featuring vocalist T-Roy Medlin, former Buzzov-en drummer Ramzi, bassist Bonne Doom with guitarists Cool Clyde and Sleepy Doom, the band have released two full length albums - their self-titled (often referred to as Salvation) debut released in 2000/Game Two Records and Will to Mangle released in 2002/Southern Lord. Numerous EPs and split recordings have kept the band in the eyes of their growing fanbase as well their commitment to consistent touring both in the US and overseas.

Always A Six, Never A Nine is the second album and the follow up to the 2006 self-titled debut from Portland, OR aggro wreckers Black Elk, whose psychotic brand of crushing, noise-rock influenced heaviosity is a return to the unhinged underground rock force of bands like Jesus Lizard, Melvins, Black Flag and Hammerhead. This new album features ten songs of seething weirdness, with the dissonant, crushing riffage, lunging rhythmic push and awesome freaked out, Yow-esque vocals of singer Tom Glose that made their debut a fave among anyone who remembered the days when Amphetamine Reptile ruled the underground rock scene, but with some interesting new elements (bleak guitar ambience, piano, etc.) that add new shadows to Black Elk's ferocious sound.

Always A Six, Never A Nine will be coming out through Crucial Blast on October 21st and will be available as both a CD in deluxe gatefold packaging and digital download, with touring to coincide with the release.

Black Elk will stampede down the West Coast beginning this week, bringing their Pacific Northwest style of wickedly mangled headfuck-rock to some lucky towns:

07/11/2008 Oak Street Speakeasy - Eugene, OR
07/16/2008 The Alibi - Arcata, CA w/Helms Alee
07/17/2008 Thee Parkside - San Francisco, CA w/The Divine Feud, Pristines, Loving Thunder, Hooray for Schwule
07/18/2008 Alex’s Bar - Long Beach, CA w/400 Blows, Horns, Telomere Repair
07/19/2008 The Scene Bar - Glendale, CA w/400 Blows
07/26/2008 Capitol Hill Block Party - Seattle, WA w/Akimbo

Philly's sludge-metal badasses hit the road this week on another East Coast tirade, bringing their down-tuned dropkick of depraved doom alongside some hellish other acts, including Sourvein, Monstrosity, Alleged Satanic Ritual Abuse and more. The reviews on this face-fisting debut are spraying through the media like bloodied teeth fragments.

"Philadelphia's Javelina are all about the ugly... like Crowbar arm wrestling High on Fire for possession of your soul..." - Outburn

"Things go from ugly to uglier in a hurry and you find yourself wondering how the fuck Iron Maiden, Motörhead, early C.O.C. and Celtic Frost... could ever be assembled into something so seamless and crushing." - Decibel

"...Javelina's self-titled Translation Loss debut is a motherfucker..." - Pitchfork

07/10/2008 Nara Sushi - Richmond, VA w/Sourvein
07/11/2008 Talking Head - Baltimore, MD w/Sourvein

Lair of the Minotaur’s killing spree continues… Their crushing third full-length War Metal Battle Master continues to reap ravenous praise from all levels of the press and the bloodthirsty public. With several tours already under their belt this year, the band attacks the asphalt again this month with a week and a half of dates with Torche and label mates Boris, a string of shows with acts including Sourvein, Black Cobra and Weedeater, building up to a mini-East Coast tour with legendary hardcore hellions M.O.D. The band is featured on the cover of the August issue of Metal Maniacs which will street the same day Lair join the Boris tour on July 22nd.

The video for War Metal Battle Master’s title track has reaped massive response online for the band and is now attacking the world via MTV2s Headbangers Ball this week! Directed by Gary Smithson (High on Fire, Goatwhore, Exodus, Tomahawk) the video is one of the goriest, violent and most METAL videos ever. On the making of the video, LOTM frontman Steve Rathbone comments: "Gary approached us at the Murderfest in LA in March ’07, wanting to direct a video for us. I told him I didn’t want to make a normal video - I hate most videos. But I already had an idea for the track War Metal Battle Master."

Filmed outside of Lancaster, CA - about half a mile from the church in Kill Bill where Uma gets shot up -LOTM let the blood flow... "The bloody ladies are Keres; demons that were attracted to blood from battles" Rathbone continues. “They would grab the newly fallen, rip them apart with their teeth, drink their blood and drag the corpses to Hades. We wanted to make something for hardcore horror and metal fans. People have been freaking out about it - I lost count of the people who came up and told me they waited their whole lives to see a metal video like that.”

This world debut of this version of the video hits Headbangers Ball this Saturday! Tune in from Midnight - 1 AM for the assault. More info at:

FUNEREAL MOON - Satan's Beauty Obscenity

Autopsy Kitchen Records proudly announces our new signing/collaboration with Mexico's ambient/occult/black metal project Funereal Moon! Funereal Moon have been creating Satanic audio blasphemies in this world since 1993 with the debut release of their Prayers Of The Crystal Tablet Of Beli demo cassette. They have had a unique approach to the dark arts from their very inception and it has only grown phenomenally over the decade since. We first became familiar with Funereal Moon's mysterious presence with their 1997 vinyl only release Grim...Evil.... Soon after that release the band all but disappeared from this planet with only 2 very limited "commemorative/best of" CDs containing a scattering of new tracks being released in a span of almost a decade!

Funereal Moon eventually returned from absolute obscurity however and began recording full time once again much to our own pleasure. We decided to approach the band about doing a re-release of Grim...Evil on CD format and in the end we got much more than we bargained for...Funereal Moon have made Autopsy Kitchen their new home for all obsessive intents and Satanic purpose in life...The first collaboration is fully recorded and will consist of a re-release of the tracks from the previously mentioned Grim...Evil LP as well as the first new Funereal Moon recordings in years: Satan's Beauty Obscenity. Following this release, the aptly titled brand new full length recording Bringer Of Evil will also materialize to assist in your pain and pleasure as Funereal Moon have done for us all these years.

THOU - Peasant

Every now and again the rare occasion arises that you come across a record clearly created by fanatics that simply can't help but stand apart from the crowd. Fanatics that have deep roots in nothing else but bashing out the most grim yet beautiful sounding doom... doom isn't the genre here, doom is the atmosphere. Eyes peer beyond shadows and blood flows beneath footprints. The world is not as vast as the mind. Reality suffers the consequence and we are it's slaves.

Peasant is Thou's 2nd full length after their debut LP Tyrant and both LPs were summoned in their hometown of Baton Rouge, LA which many here in the states consider the home state of that true soulful doom vibe somewhat akin to Motown via Detroit. Unlike many bands of the ilk, Thou doesn't just simply plow over you with riff after unbearably crushing riff over the duration of the album but choose to riff over your soul track by track with more venom per ounce than is likely healthy by any standard. Needless pain and suffering are all around you, Thou are not the answer... they are the alternative. No true pleasure can ever be experienced without a healthy dose of pain. Look no further. Presented in a deluxe 16-page booklet and each copy will come wrapped in a specially designed vellum strip. Hear THOU on our online mp3 player now.

See THOU on tour now!

Thou are currently touring the United States until July 19th and you'd be a fool to miss a chance to see them live if they come anywhere near you!

TAPROOT RETURNS SEPTEMBER 16 WITH HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM OUR LONG ROAD HOME

Los Angeles, CA (June 19) – Ann Arbor, MI-based hard rock quartet TAPROOT has announced a September 16th release date for highly anticipated new album OUR LONG ROAD HOME. The album—Taproot’s first since 2005’s Blue-Sky Research—will be released through Velvet Hammer, the label founded by the management company of the same name (System Of A Down, Deftones, Alice In Chains).

Working with producer Tim Patalan (Sponge, Lovedrug), the band penned more than fifty songs for the album, twelve of which were recorded in a converted barn just a few minutes down the road from vocalist/guitarist Stephen Richards’ home.

“We made each of our previous albums in expensive studios and always had to keep one eye on the clock to finish on budget,” says Richards. “This time we got to record an album the way we did our early demos—relaxed, at our own pace, and allowed to indulge in our own guilty pleasures. It proved that you can actually go home again.”

OUR LONG ROAD HOME reveals a revitalized band with a broadened range and deepened perspective. The album combines the feral ("Take It”) with the grandiose ("Footprints”) while exploring themes of loss ("Be The One"), liberation ("Run To") and the emotional carnage in-between. On tracks such as “Hand That Holds True” and smoldering lead single “Wherever I Stand,” Taproot blends iron-fisted backbeats, honeyed melodies and speaker-shattering guitars to thrilling effect.

After recording three albums for a major label, OUR LONG ROAD HOME will be Taproot’s first as an indie band, and as Richards tells it, that suits them just fine. “Budget cuts and political shifts cost us our support system at the old place,” he says. “When our A&R guy lost his job, we knew it was time for a change. A few years ago, that might’ve been a scary thing, but it’s a brand-new world out there now for bands like us. We no longer have to rely on a big record company to make things happen and that’s exciting. We made this record without the pressure of having to write four smash hit singles hanging over our heads and that was liberating. “Of course,” he laughs, “there are a few songs on the album that could do really well on radio.”

“The album title is based on the idea that everything you ever wanted is right inside of you, you just have to dig and find it,” adds guitarist Mike DeWolf. “It’s been a long road for us, but it was all right here all along. We just had to come home to find it.”

Taproot arrived on the scene in 2000 with Gift, an album that shot to No. 6 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, with follow-up records Welcome (2002) and Blue Sky Research (2005) each charting within the first 35 on Billboard’s Top 200. Along the way they garnered critical praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, shared stages with bands ranging from Linkin Park to Queens of the Stone Age and saw songs like “Poem,” “Mine” and “Calling” blanket rock radio.

With OUR LONG ROAD HOME Taproot is staying true to their roots, while keeping their grooves current and hearts open. “There’s a sense of energy and excitement about us that we haven’t felt since we released our first album,” says Richards. “We’re ready to hit the ground running.”

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Metal world,

We are proud to announce the signing of a new metal force MEMOIRA, a young female fronted Finnish band playing what we would call "epic melancholic metal that has progressive and gothic orchestral parts. Carrying on in the fashon of bands such as Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot, Within Temptation, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil.

MEMOIRA is known for it’s strong melancholic melodies and heavy guitar walls, and began it’s journey in the beginning of 2007, originally formed by the two guitarists Jani Haanpää and Marko Heurlin in 2001. They gathered together a group of various musicians who had played in different bands. Memoira went to studio to work on first album in the end of 2007 and in the beginning of 2008 started to work with Lance King (known for best for his work as vocalist of BALANCE OF POWER, PYRAMAZE and most recently of AVIAN & KRUCIBLE ) as an executive producer naturally leading to their new full length debut "SELF TITLED" release with Lance's label Nightmare records.

INFERNOPHONIC PREPARES TO ‘SPARK IT UP’

Melody meets musicianship in classic hard rock merger on debut CD

#2 Most Added at CMJ; #5 Most Added at FMQB

“A breathing, live sound that will remind you of when music was played by bands.– Guitar Player

CLIFTON, NJ – Heavy without the metal and meticulous in its musicianship, INFERNOPHONIC returns the swaggering spirit and soulful splendor to hard rock in a funked-up, female-fronted fury on its debut CD, Spark It Up.

Hailed by Guitar Player for “a breathing, live sound that will remind you of when music was played by bands” and praised by Guitar World for exploring “rich melodic and lyrical topics,” Spark It Up already is charting at FMQB and CMJ, debuting, respectively, at #5 Most Added and #2 Most Added on hard rock radio.

INFERNOPHONICis a real musician’s band, pummeling rock’s current conventions with a wallop reserved for the hard-hitting giants of the past four decades. Stacking contemporary influences such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Audioslave on a firm foundation of forefathers Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, the ferocious foursome is headed by ringmaster Kevin Bolembach (Non-Fiction) on bass and head-turning newcomer Elaine Tuttle on lead vocals, a “red hot singer” (Guitar World) who “conjures comparisons to Grace Slick, Ann Wilson and other ballsy banshees” (Music Connection). Fortifying the attack are the lightning licks of guitarist Pat Piegari (Lourds) and the deep, dirty backbeat of drummer Ross Kantor.

After two years of burning up the Northeast with their incendiary live shows, INFERNOPHONIC was asked to record Spark It Up by Alan Evans of Soulive. Evans brought the band into world-famous Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY (Coheed & Cambria, King Crimson, Medeski Martin & Wood) to plug into its coveted vintage gear, clandestine recording techniques, and cutting edge mixing technologies. Those studio qualities held special meaning for Bolembach, a self-professed gear head who is also founder and president of Godlyke, Inc., an equipment company obsessed with tonal quality. It should come as no surprise that Spark It Up is a sonic smorgasbord that will leave every musician wondering: “How did they get that tone?”

Able to melt and meld a diverse audio arsenal to create a new sonic experience, INFERNOPHONIC is a breed apart. Spark It Up is sure to ignite the molten core within any hard rock fan, regardless of age, by a band that is glorious in all its heavenly rage.

Following intense and very constructive discussions, Steamhammer/SPV have announced their future collaboration with Swedish dark melodic metal act, Evergrey. The deal includes not only the group's brand-new studio album, Torn, which will arrive in September, but also Evergrey's complete back-catalog. SPV Head of Labels, Ulrike Rudolph says: "We are all happy to welcome Evergrey to the SPV/Steamhammer Family, and are looking forward to a great future together." Evergrey mastermind Tom S. Englund is also looking forward to a productive cooperation with Steamhammer, explaining: "After long and intense negotiations, we feel that we have arrived at optimum conditions for everybody involved. We are confident that Evergrey will continue to grow artistically under the terms of this contract, that SPV will enjoy our cooperation and - this is definitely the most important aspect - that our fans will thoroughly benefit from the new deal."

The first stage of this ambitious target will see the release of Evergrey's new studio album, Torn, at the beginning of September, featuring eleven compositions, described by Englund as a "modern mix of In Search Of Truth and Recreation Day". "The tracks are all guitar-oriented and very atmospheric. They have exactly the sound that our fans expect from us." According to Englund, the slightly more experimental direction of Evergrey's previous release, Monday Morning Apocalypse, has given way again to old strengths and virtues. "Two years ago we needed an album with a slightly different approach and an expensive producer, just to find out how that sort of thing works. It was the right album at the time, but now we have returned to our typical trademarks." This is one of the reasons why the tracks on Torn were self-produced by Englund together with drummer Jonas Ekdahl. In addition, the band has a new bassist, Fredrik Larsson having been replaced by former Stratovarius musician Jari Kainulainen.

Since the band arrived on the scene in 1998, Evergrey have brought out six studio albums and one live cut. All of them made the top 20 in their native Sweden and the last two made the top 10 (no. 6 and 3, respectively). On top of that, their DVD was number 1 for four weeks and nominated for a Grammy in Sweden. The band has toured around the globe several times, together with In Flames, Nevermore, Throwdown, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom and Iced Earth, among others. Along with Torn, their new contract with Steamhammer/SPV includes the band's complete back-catalog, so top-quality reissues featuring a selection of bonus tracks are likely in future. "There is so much additional material for each album that we could theoretically re-release it on an extra DVD. Whatever we manage to do – premium reissues are certainly a possibility."

Sensory Records is proud to announce the signing of New Jersey's up-and-coming prog metal all-stars Suspyre. Formed in 2001, these talented, young musicians have discovered an energetic and gifted way of combining progressive rock and symphonic metal with classical and jazz fusion. The bands' new album When Time Fades... will be released September 30, 2008.

"We are all very excited about signing to Sensory Records" says Gregg Rossetti, guitarist and founder/composer of Suspyre. "The high-caliber musicians on this label have inspired our band to become what it is and we are now proud to be a part of their family."

October 2005 marked the release of the band's first full-length album, The Silvery Image. Response to the album was so positive that the band was signed to Nightmare Records and followed up with the release of their next album, A Great Divide, in March 2007.  The album hit the top 2007 prog metal album charts on websites such as USA Progressive Music, ProgPalaceRadio.com, and Beyond Ear Candy.

To further their goal to develop and perfect their fusion of varied musical inspirations and influences, Suspyre has recorded a third album, When Time Fades… This album is a groovier piece of art with a bit more metallic crunch, and even more variety in the song styles, including an acoustic piece. No one can accuse this band of being formulaic in their composing. When Time Fades… has set the bar even higher than the band's previous albums, not only in music creation but also in the artwork done by Gustavo Sazes (Firewind, Dark Empire, Mystic Prophecy) , and featured guest artists that include drummer Charlie Zeleny (Behold the Arctopus, Blotted Science, Jordan Rudess), and female vocalist Trisha O'Keefe (Amaran's Plight).

Suspyre is also currently trying out musicians for two new positions, seeking a drummer and a keyboardist to fill the line-up of their band for live performances (see below for full audition info).

PRESS RELEASE - WORSHIP To Release Doom EP Trilogy

Funeral Doomers WORSHIP are working on a conceptional trilogy of EPs called "Elemental Doom Trilogy". The first installment will be shipped in June, and can be preordered today.

Interesting about the trilogy is that each EP focuses on a raw, primal theme, the first being "Wood", and both bands of the split 7" provide a song based on that theme.

The split partner on "Wood" is Persistence in Mourning (USA), known from the Thergothon Tribute CD.

Worship's contribution is "Baumvater", a song written in 1995 by band member Satachrist, constituting the band's first non-cover which was not written by The Doommonger. Who contributed the lyrics, though, partially in German in contrast to their latest release "Dooom". There are other differences too, as EPs allow for more liberty. We might hear some groove and some harder elements as well on this one.

The cover is designed by Gustavo Sazes (www.Abstrata.net), who already received huge praise for his Digipack artwork for "Dooom". The 7" comes in a nice cardboard sleeve. Although label Endzeit Elegies reacted to the speed in which some of the past EPs were sold out, the first EP on Worship's own label will still be limited, and preordering is heavily advised, starting today at their online shop: http://www.EndzeitElegies.com/catalog

Distributors who want to carry this title can contact Endzeit Elegies info <AT> EndzeitElegies <DOT> com. The complete list of distributors will be announced soon on the label's website http://www.EndzeitElegies.com

SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY, Tampa's own misanthropic monolith, penned a deal with Nuclear Blast Records in January of 2008 after extensive touring for their debut EP, "Subhuman Empire", available via Debello Recordings. Guitarist Ian Sturgill speaks on what is to be expected of their first full-length LP titled "The Grand Partition and the Abrogation of Idolatry", produced by James Murphy (Testament, Obituary, Disincarnate):

"We have taken great care to make this album as completely pissed-off as humanly possible. This music has become more than what we could have ever hoped it could be. Our EP was recorded roughly 3 weeks after the band's formation; this recording, with more jams under our belt and James at the helm, is to be experienced by the listener as we had always intended. We're here to make Metal fucking scary again. That being said, onto the lyrical content:

It is our firm belief that the currently accepted beliefs and their subsequent courses of action are instrumental in the tumultuous times in which we are living. The slow hypnosis and systematic retrograde of the general population is coming to a very ugly head. It is only through a radical overhaul in the current human paradigm that we may be able to avoid what very well could result in our self destruction; or at very best, our total enslavement. It is now more important than ever that we observe our history and endeavor to avoid our prior mistakes.

There is a human tendency to point fingers in times like these. When the human animal observes that which it does not understand or is at odds with, the common reaction is to become the polar opposite of that which it despises; in this Left/Right/Black/White thought and response process, a million possibilities are overlooked and drastic measures find themselves in the place of rational actions. The human animal then seeks to assimilate its enemy. This is a very robotic response, and is unlike the standard fight or flee instincts that are prevalent throughout the animal kingdom.

To conquer an enemy, it is often wise to divide them among their own ranks... and divide ourselves we do; by border, race, faction, genre, culture, rank, blood and class. But who then indeed, is our enemy?

The powers of thought, speech and action are grossly underestimated due to the debasement of mankind.

'The Grand Partition...' is a dire reminder than we are the clearest and most direct danger to ourselves."

Pre-production has been completed for "The Grand Partition and the Abrogation of Idolatry". Drum tracking will begin in June at Hollow Studios in Rockland County, NY.

Gringindtheapparatus.net will be taking video documentation of the recording process will begin in June, and will also be available at youtube.com/SWWAATSTube; fan submitted live videos of the band can be viewed in the meantime.

S.W.W.A.T.S. features former members of BODIES IN THE GEARS OF THE APPARATUS and DEHUMANIZED.

DARKEST SEED finishing recordings of the debut album

- The heavy/hard band DARKEST SEED recently finished the recordings of drums and guitars of their new album, which shall be released in the next few months. Right now the group is going to record vocals and bass, then begin the mix and mastering process to finish the album, which is being produced by Roger Fingle (Blood Tears and Seduced by Suicide) at Nitro Sound Solutions studio.

About the recordings the guitarist Ricardo Reolon (ex-Burning In Hell), comments: "The recordings of guitars and drums were fine and pleased us very much. Since we had lots of rehearsals before entering in studio, we didn't have any problem when recording. Now we are going to record bass ans vocals, then begin the mix and mastering. We are very anxious to see this album ready and to show everyone the power of Darkest Seed songs".

ARSIS PART WAYS WITH DRUMMER; BEGIN STINT ON “IN THRASH WE TRUST” TOUR

Lead guitarist/vocalist James Malone offers this band update:

“Although we had a great run over the past year and a half with drummer Darren Cesca [whose work is featured on the band’s latest album, We Are The Nightmare], we have decided to stop working with him in ARSIS.  The reasoning behind this decision is simply differences in personalities and an overall difference in direction.  Darren is an amazing musician and we harbor no ill feelings towards him.  We wish him all the best.  We are most excited to announce that Alex Tomlin, a long time friend of ours and an outstanding drummer, will be replacing Darren.  His first shows with us will be on the ‘In Thrash We Trust’ tour starting this Wednesday.  Come out and support ARSIS and the new addition to our line-up!”

"UNHOLY ALLIANCE TOUR, CHAPTER III"
LAUNCHES ITS FIRST 2008 ASSAULT WITH EUROPEAN DATES

Bill Features Slayer, Trivium, and Mastodon

Los Angeles, CA - June 11, 2008 -- The European leg of the mighty "Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III" has been confirmed to kick off in Manchester, England on October 27 and will play nearly two dozen shows over a four-week period (initial itinerary below). This third installment of what has been hailed as "the heaviest, darkest tour of the year," the "Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III" will feature Slayer, the undisputed kings of extreme speed/thrash metal, and two true princes of the genre, Trivium and Mastodon. An opening act will be announced shortly. While Slayer will close all of the shows, they will be co-billed with Trivium on the UK dates.

Matthew Heafy, Trivium's frontman commented "Trivium is honored that Slayer has invited us to tour with them on the 'Unholy Alliance Tour.' All of us in Trivium are diehard Slayer fans and we look up to them for their music and longevity. They are one of the true pillars of heavy metal and for us to share stages with them is both an honor and a privilege. We've also known the Mastodon guys for a few years and we're definitely looking forward to hanging with them as well." Guitarist Corey Beaulieu continues, "I can't wait to get out on tour with Slayer so we can watch them crush every night and then have the opportunity to share many drinks with them and Mastodon after the shows! I better get my liver in shape. it's going to be awesome!"

The Unholy Alliance tour first launched in Fall, 2004 with a European edition that featured Slipknot, Slayer, Mastodon and Hatebreed. The venture was so successful, the first North American trek, dubbed "The Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter II: Preaching to The Perverted," kicked off in Summer, 2006 with Slayer, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Mastodon, and Thine Eyes Bleed stomping and screaming its way to 30 U.S. and Canadian cities. The European run of "Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter II" took place in Fall, 2006, featuring Slayer, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, and Thing Eyes Bleed.

As the UK's heavy metal bible, Kerrang! once said about The Unholy Alliance Tour, "It's so metal, it HURTS!"

SLAYER
A journalist once wrote of Slayer, "If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he undoubtedly would be listening to Slayer." Indeed, in the beginning, when there were no blueprints, no set paths, no boundaries or steps to follow, SLAYER assaulted the world with its new hybrid of metal and punk. Heavier, faster and darker than the rest, Slayer set the new standard which all others continue to follow. Slayer is the band that all other heavy acts are measured against, defining not only a genre but an attitude. For more than two-and-a-half decades, Slayer's onslaught of sheer brutality has proven them to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet. Entire countries have banned their music, NARAS has graced them with two Grammy Awards. Slayer is currently writing material for a new album, release date TBD.

TRIVIUM
Orlando, FL heavy metallers TRIVIUM are delighted to be co-headlining with SLAYER on the UK leg of this year's colossal UNHOLY ALLIANCE tour. Having performed over 600 shows in the last 36 months alone, Trivium are no strangers to the stage and life on the road. Last year, the worldwide million-selling band toured extensively with Machine Head, co-headlining the impressive Black Crusade tour, as well as finding time to play shows with the legendary Iron Maiden amongst others. Since then, they have been hard at work on their next studio album for Roadrunner Records, due for release on September 29, 2008.

MASTODON
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Mastodon have been critically acclaimed by almost every publication in the US and Europe. Their Grammy nominated album, Blood Mountain, the group's third release, isn't just unconventional, it's surreal, progressive and unrepentantly heavy. Mastodon combined their favorite musical styles, including thrash, doom, prog and psychedelic metal to concoct something utterly original, undeniably devastating and irrefutably entrancing. They are currently in the studio with producer Brendan O'Brien recording their follow up to "Blood Mountain."

The band’s rich history includes even includes a past recording line up of Frost (SATYRICON) on drums and Attila Csihar (MAYHEM) on vocals. SOUND AND FURY SUPPORT SELF-TITLED RELEASE WITH LIVE DATES WITH LESS THAN JAKE AND AIRBOURNE AND DEBUT VIDEO FOR "18" ONLINE

Toronto Canada's Sound and Fury is undeniably all about the rock, as heard throughout their self-titled debut full-length album, 'Sound and Fury,' due June 24th via Rebel Youth Records/MRI-RED Distribution.  And the group's live show is just as in-your-face - a point which will surely be proven when the group hits the road in the U.S. with Less Than Jake in July, and in Canada with Airbourne the following month.  Lead singer Luke Metcalf exclaims, "Less Than Jake are a great band  and we're really, really excited - these shows should be high voltage!  We're totally psyched to appear on the same stage as Airbourne and  stand up for the wildest, wickedest, most kick ass thing ever created by humans - rock n' roll. This is going to be a fucking rampage!"

Sound and Fury (which also includes guitarists Daz and Griffin, bassist John Kerns, and drummer Chris Avalos) is all about power chords, no-bullshit rock 'n roll, and total sonic assault, as evidenced by the
lead-off turbo-charged single and video from 'Sound and Fury,' "18." To view the video for "18"  online, go to http://www.soundandfury.com/rebelyouth/videos.htm.

The Sammy Ray Welch-directed video shoot for "18" recently took place in an abandoned police station in Toronto, and featured lighting design input from A.J. Pen, who is known for his work with Linkin Park.  "It was a blast!" blares out vocalist Luke Metcalf. "We shot it in an abandoned cop shop and got totally wasted."  "We are all huge fans of 1970's rock and punk. AC/DC were at their peak
between '76-'80, same with The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and The  Misfits, and of course Zeppelin and Sabbath were at their best earlier in the decade.
This music was ferocious! Dangerous! That's what we're all about, creating no-bullshit rock n' roll to get down and dirty and party your ass off to!"

In addition to perfectly capturing their raw power on album, the group has been gaining fans by the truckload by also opening up for  Canada's leading pop-punk band, Sum 41, throughout the great white north (as well as the U.K.).  The group plays stripped down straight up rock n' roll and was praised by PunkTV.ca for "combining iconoclastic AC/DC  thunder, Misfits brooding, the raw impetuousness of the Pistols and  the charismatic anthemic song styling's of the Ramones.

Metcalf promises that Sound and Fury will never attempt to "save the world" with their music. But rather, will continue to party and rock as
hard as humanly possible.  "We don't take ourselves that seriously. This is about going out and  getting crazy, for kids who want to go out and have a good time. I  wanna party with the kids who live for rock n roll - no bullshit, down 'n dirty, ferocious rock 'n roll. People who really sincerely live for that music and don't give a shit about anything else. Basically I write about myself; who I am, what I've experienced. I write about what its like to be a wild wolf living in a culture of sheep."

That said, the forthcoming Sound and Fury Airbourne pairing is bound to be one wicked rock n' roll party!

LOS ANGELES - The world of pop and hard rock collide on American stages this summer with the driving sound of DEFY TOMORROW. The band will be playing selected dates on the VANS WARPED TOUR in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado.  The tour kicks off on Sunday, June 22 in Ventura, CA.

Formed in July 2007, DEFY TOMORROW is the unlikely teaming of former MTV Pop Artist Marissa with lead singer for hard rock band ColdFusion Mike Oliver. Both founding members have received national attention for their musical talents: the music video for Marissa's "Just So Able" was voted the No. 1 Pop Video on VH1's Music Nation while making the rounds on MTV and MTV Overdrive, and Oliver's ColdFusion were featured on the premiere episode of Dane Cook's HBO special Tourgasm.

DEFY TOMORROW will be featured in broadcasts of new MTV show Exiled, premiering this August, which follows Marissa and seven other cast members as they are sent out to remote locations around the globe to acclimate to life with indigenous tribes. The show will include footage of Marissa's everyday life in Scottsdale, Arizona, including performances by the band. Previews for the show can be found on MTV's website.
http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1587292&vid=232277

On tour, the band will be performing material from their debut EP One Through the Heart, now available through their website and iTunes. The sound matches Oliver's hard-rock backing, featuring screaming guitars and explosive drumming, with Marissa's impassioned pop-vocal delivery of her bitter, heartbroken lyrics. The EP's lead track, "Words Don't Mean a Thing," showcases a bitterly sarcastic take on a shattered love affair, against a chaotic, overdriven backdrop - as Marissa sings, "Words don't mean a thing/Fairy tale endings don't come true/I know that now and it's ok because I'm over you."

DEFY TOMORROW is ready to blow you away with their own brand of hard rock today! Don't miss them on the Warped Tour this summer.

Nuclear Blast Records has announced the signing of the Tasmanian technical death metal band PSYCROPTIC.

Nuclear Blast's U.S. A&R representative Gerardo Martinez stated about the signing: "We are beyond excited to be working with one of the BEST technical death metal bands in the world right now. We feel the band will reach the status they deserve in a short period of time."

The band added: "To say that all of us are excited to be working with Nuclear Blast is quite an understatement — we're over the moon! Nuclear Blast has always been the pinnacle of labels within the metal realm, and to be signed with them is a huge honor for us...and to be the first Tasmanian band to ever be on the label is a pretty cool bonus as well. The artist roster is nothing short of amazing, and for us to be added to it...well, we couldn't be happier!!"

In a recent interview with The Metal Forge, PSYCROPTIC drummer Dave Haley stated about the group's new material, "It's still PSYCROPTIC, but I think out songwriting has improved. It's very catchy stuff, but still intense. Some stuff isn't as technical, other stuff is. We have tried to make it varied but still sound like an album — not just a mish-mash of songs. We're quite excited about it all!"

PSYCROPTIC's third full-length album, "Symbols of Failure", was released in February 2006 via Neurotic Records. The follow-up of 2003's "The Scepter of the Ancients" marks the recording debut of the band's new vocalist Jason Peppiatt.

THE REVOLTING COCKS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM, "SEX-O OLYMPIC-O"

Los Angeles, CA - June 23, 2008 -- To some, The Revolting Cocks (aka RevCo) is the bastard offspring of Ministry-madman Al Jourgensen and it seems that "Uncle Al" is a damn proud papa these days.

"This is the best RevCo album I've ever done," said Al, who produced the album. "As a matter of fact, I think this is the best album - including Ministry, Pailhead, Lard - anything I've ever done, period. Production-wise, song-wise, I'm really, really happy with this record. It's the first CD I've ever gotten back from the mastering studio that I didn't have anything to bitch about. No complaints. I listened to the whole thing and just went, 'OK - that's a wrap. Let's go'!"

While still retaining the unmistakable RevCo industrial-dance-metal sound, "Sex-O Olympic-O" sees the group (Josh Bradford/vocals, Sin Quirin/guitars, Clayton Worbeck/keyboards) let first-wave glam rock seep into their already rich sound. Case in point, the soon-to-be quirky anthem (and first single from the album), "I'm Not Gay," which debuted on Ministry's 2008 "C U LaTouR" live shows and is now a solid staple on MySpace and Facebook homepages around the world.

Set for release October 14, 2008 via Jourgensen's label 13th Planet Records, it turns out that "Sex-O Olympic-O" was supposed to be RevCo's swansong. However, according to singer Bradford, it was the quality of the material that made Jourgensen alter his plan slightly. "Originally, it was going to be the final RevCo album, Al was ready to put Ministry and RevCo to rest. Al and Sin had a couple of ideas, he gave them to me and we threw them together. Al was like, 'Fuck! We're not going to have this be the last album.' He made a decision after hearing the first few tracks to keep it going, because it was going to be one of the best RevCo albums to come out. We were in El Paso - we set up a couple of little studios. We sat down - me, Al and Sin, and then Clayton later joined us - we just started trading tracks. It just magically came together. Most of the time, we all tracked individually, which is very strange for an album when you do that to come out so cohesive. The only time we hung out was when we went to strip clubs or got wasted."

As evidenced by such tracks as "Hookerbot 3000" and "The Red Parrot," RevCo's affection for frequenting strip clubs has certainly rubbed off on them musically, as many of the songs sound like a custom-made soundtrack for strippers worldwide to strut their stuff to. But if you dig deep into the lyrics, you'll be afforded a direct look into the warped and twisted mind of Bradford. "Josh recorded a lot of these vocals in his apartment - really thin walls with no soundproofing," points out Worbeck. "He was tracking in the middle of the night with headphones on, yelling these bizarre phrases that are in the song at the top of his lungs. If you think about it, his neighbors weren't hearing music, all they were hearing was him yelling these strange lyrics. His neighbors must think he's insane."

The last word goes to Jourgensen, who offers to clear up once and for all the rumors surrounding RevCo's future. "I am leaving after this album, and I'm turning it over to a younger generation of RevCo's - much like Menudo does or Blue Man Group. I'm kind of franchising it out. It started in 1983 - with me, Luc Van Acker and Richard 23 from Front 242. There were three of us, and now, I've found these other three young knuckleheads who I think capture the true essence and spirit of being 'a Revolting Cock,' if you will. Picture me, Luc and Richard as when you walk into a bank and you have the portraits of the founders. And we've turned it over to these three guys - under the one condition that in five years, they have to turn it over to three other new guys. They have to find the right people to carry on the tradition - which is a lot of keg parties, beer chugging, throwing up, sexual abnormalities." As evidenced by the strength of "Sex-O Olympic-O," Josh, Sin and Clayton will undoubtedly do the RevCo name proud for the next five years.

RevCo plans to support "Sex-O Olympic-O" with lots of touring starting this fall. More details TBA.

As recently leaked, UK Death/Grind/Melo-death metal legends, CARCASS, will be performing at the Nokia Theatre in New York City on September 6, 2008. The show will also include 3 soon to be announced special guests in addition to NECROPHAGIST and ABORTED. Always a cut up and never afraid not to mince his words, vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker commented on what will be the first of many more U.S. performances:

“Well we waited and waited (just to make you sweat), but it doesn't look like Bush and Blair's phony war has any end in sight. The dollar ain't gonna get any stronger, gas ain't gonna get any cheaper, so it's now or never! I guess you ex-colonists need cheering up and the only thing we can think of is some old school grind and death metal (laughs)! Joking aside, we KNOW damn well we HAVE to play the U.S. if only to either shut you all up or completely disappoint you and shatter your illusions about this band! Either way it's gonna be a 'blast' as you say out there. We're looking to recreate the road trip of the Summer of '90 with DEATH which was one of the best times of our lives (Christ I sound old)!  To quote Herchell Gordon Lewis as on Necroticism ‘PREPARE TO DIE’!”

Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 11 at Noon (http://www.nokiatheatrenyc.com/showdetail.php?id=5965).

More U.S. shows will be announced shortly.

In February of 1999, CARCASS drummer Ken Owen suffered a near-fatal brain hemorrhage, leaving him in a coma for over 10 months. As a result, he is not taking part inCARCASS' current reunion run (ARCH ENEMY skinsman Daniel Erlandsson is filling in), but will reportedly be traveling with the band whenever possible and making brief appearances at select shows.

CARCASS' reunion lineup:

Bill Steer (FIREBIRD) - Vocals, Guitar
Jeff Walker (BRUJERIA) - Vocals, Bass
Michael Amott (ARCH ENEMY) - Guitar
Daniel Erlandsson (ARCH ENEMY) - Drums

Soulseller Records is proud to announce the signing of four new acts:

Thornium (SWE)

Alverg (NOR)

Maim (SWE)

Stench (SWE)

Thornium

We guess we can call this a legendary act in the black metal scene, having only released one album in 1995 (“Dominions of the eclipse”) and a demo it is about time this Swedish hellcult comes forth with a new recording. Thornium has signed to Soulseller Records for 3 albums. The working title for the first of these is “Mushroom clouds and dusk”. Hell is unleashed!

Alverg

A Norwegian black metal band, created in 2002. The only release they did so far was a demo in 2003. A real masterpiece we dare to tell you! This demo got the attention from some labels, amongst others the now defunct Karmageddon Media. Due to circumstances the band has been quiet for some years, but has come out of the woods now to release their first of a 3-album deal, entitled “Elde”.

www.alverg.com

Maim

A rather young death metal band from Sweden. But a killer one!! With the tragic death of Swedish death metal masters Repugnant it is with great pleasure we can still enjoy total death metal with Maim. Anyone into Repugnant will definitely enjoy the carnal feasts spewed forth by Maim!

www.myspace.com/maimdeathmetal

Stench

New in the metalworld, bringing you death metal from the old school. The name says it all. Before releasing any fullength album Stench will bring you an appetizer in the form of a 7”ep. Death.Darkness.Stench.

Oakland CA’s extreme metal maestros, ALL SHALL PERISH,  have posted two new songs on the band’s Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/allshallperish). The title track and “Never Again” have been taken from the band’s upcoming release “Awaken the Dreamers.” “Awaken the Dreamers,” the band’s third overall release, will be released on September 5th in Europe and on September 16th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. Drummer Matt Kuykendall commented on the new material and the variation to be found within the new albums 12 tracks:

“We have never been a band to write the same record twice and we have never enjoyed records that are 1 single and 11 worse versions of the same song. This record is the most diverse thing we have done to date. Every song is different and brings something new to the overall experience of the CD. When you look back to all the classic records of our time, they are full of all kinds of different songs. ‘Vulgar Display of Power’ just wouldn't be the same without ‘This Love’ and ‘Hollow’. Our record is a breath of fresh air in a scene that is turning stale.”

The recording sessions for the follow-up to "The Price of Existence" once again took place at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland with producer Zack Ohren (DECREPIT BIRTH, LIGHT THIS CITY).

"Awaken The Dreamers" track listing:

01. When Life Meant More...
02. Black Gold Reign
03. Never...Again
04. The Ones We Left Behind
05. Awaken The Dreamers
06. Memories Of A Glass Sanctuary
07. Stabbing To Purge Dissimulation
08. Gagged, Bound, Shelved And Forgotten
09. Until The End
10. From So Far Away
11. Misery's Introduction
12. Songs For The Damned

ALL SHALL PERISH
will embark on a European tour late this summer along with SWORN ENEMY and WARBRINGER and a soon to be announced U.S. tour this Fall.

As previously reported, ALL SHALL PERISH's classic debut album, "Hate.Malice.Revenge", will be reissued on September 5 as part of the Nuclear Blast "Reloaded" series.
1) DEAD VOWS "BAD BLOOD" CD release + european tours
2) THE GUILT SHOW full length CD release
3) GARGANTHA / LE TORMENTA split 7" out now!
4) SUMMER OFFER + DISTRO NEWS!

1) Refoundation Records is glad to announce a new upcoming release:
DEAD VOWS debut full length, titled "BAD BLOOD" will be out on 25th
July. DEAD VOWS is a brand new band from Sweden featuring members from
THE SMACKDOWN, ANCHOR, SEVEN FEET MEMBERS, 8 DAYS OF NOTHING AND
REPOMAN.

"DEAD VOWS: Two words giving four individuals a chance to collectively
deal with their demons, their pains of modern life and their fear of
death. This band is their effort, their search for meaning,
inspiration and an honest and energetic expression."

"BAD BLOOD" manifests determination and hunger, curiousity and urgency
throughout all of the 11 songs. This piece of plastic, paper and
punkrock passion sounds like THE SWARM blended with REFUSED and RISE &
FALL.

If you preorder the album, you will get it for 10 euro postage-paid.

Canada’s very own extreme metal titans, KATAKLYSM, have re-signed with Nuclear Blast Records! This isn’t the first time the band has re-signed to the label either but actually the fourth time; a first in the history of the label. It is a partnership that has thrived for the past 15 years and has produced such classics as “Temple of Knowledge,” “Shadows and Dust”  and “In the Arms of Devastation” to name a few. The band is currently touring with THE BLACK DAHILA MURDER  as part of the annual Summer Slaughter tour, supporting their soon to be classic new album “Prevail.” Lead singer Maurizio Iacono took a quick break from the madness of the road to comment on their renewed partnership:

“Today is a very important day for KATAKLYSM. A pivotal decision in our career has been made and we are beyond happy to say that we have decided to renew our deal with Nuclear Blast! This is the label who discovered us, believed in us, and still pushes the envelope for KATAKLYSM's future to this day. When times were rough many people turned their backs on KATAKLYSM but not Nuclear Blast. They stayed true to us and we learned from each
others mistakes and grew together overtime. So today we make history together by becoming the first band on Nuclear Blast to re-sign four times! We started with them and we intend to finish with them but not before releasing  more KATAKLYSM-ic events on the masses! Believe me when I say the best is yet to come. Celebration time!”

Jaap Wagemaker, European A&R and head of promotions for Nuclear Blast Europe, added:

Nuclear Blast is really stoked to announce that one of the cornerstone bands of the label is re-signing for the 4th time now! The legendary Canadian hyperblasters, KATAKLYSM, have been with the label for 15 years and have seen how Nuclear Blast grew from a small independent to the #1 label for extreme music worldwide! During this time KATAKLYSM has evolved to one of the leaders in today’s international death metal scene! After having released masterpieces like ‘Shadows and Dust’, ‘Serenity in Fire’, ‘In the Arms of Devastation’ and this year's ‘Prevail’, KATATKLYSM has made their way to the top of the death metal scene! This of course did not unnoticed by other labels. So we couldn't have been happier when KATAKLYSM told us that they wanted to stay with the Nuclear Blast. Together we made it possible for them to be where they are now! All these years working with KATAKLYSM have been a great ride and we are looking forward to continuing to work with them. Maurizio, Max, J-F  and Stephane welcome home! Together we will prevail!”

Nuclear Blast America’s Label Manager Gerardo Martinez continued:

“It has been a dream come true working with these bunch of crazy Canadians these past years. Looking back now, I would’ve never guessed back in 1995 (the first time I saw KATAKLYSM live) that I would one day be working with such a great group of people and one of the most successful death metal bands on the planet today! The band has grown so much in the past few years due to their strong work ethic, and of course their knack for cranking out killer death metal records!

We are proud to announce that today, at the Nuclear Blast U.S.A. headquarters in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, the band resigned with us one more time to make this the 4th time. This marks a first in the history of the label and goes to show how amazing of a relationship we have with the band. Congratulations Maurizio, Max, J-F and Stephane; hard work never goes unnoticed!”

Tasmanian tech-death masters, PSYCROPTIC, have officially announced the title of their follow-up to 2006’s “Symbols of Failure.” “Ob(Servant),” the band’s first album for Nuclear Blast Records and fourth overall, will be released sometime in the Fall of 2008. “Ob(Servant)” was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and recorded once again by guitarist Joe Haley. Drummer Dave Haley commented on their upcoming release:

'Ob(Servant)' is definitely our finest hour (well, finest 49 minutes and 49 seconds anyway). It’s of course a cliché of every band to say that their newest album is their best and so on, but we are very proud of what we have done on this album. The writing process was a little different for this album, with Joe (guitarist)
writing pretty much all the material. This gives the album a very coheisive and flowing feel, and this album is definatley our most diverse material thus far. The artwork is also amazing, having been completed by Raymand Swanland (DEEDS OF FLESH). Those not familiar with his work should check it out – you will be amazed!

It’s a mixture of everything we have done, as well as adding in new elements to continue the progression we are on as a band. No point releasing the same album twice, right? Like “Symbols of Failure”, Joe  engineered the album, but this time we enlisted the help of metal guru Logan Mader to mix and master the album...and that was probably the best decision we have ever made. The album sounds huge! Since we are currently on the amazing Summer Slaughter tour in the US at the moment, we had been receiving mixes while on the road. After our LA show Logan took myself and Joe to his Dirty Icon studio and put the finishing touches on the mix. Huge is one word for the sound he achieved.”

In regards to the band’s current U.S. tour as part of the annual Summer Slaughter package with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and KATAKLYSM he continues: “Speaking of the current tour, tonight marks Jasons final US show of the tour – as he will fly home tommorow to meet the latest addition to the PSYCROPTIC family, his first born daughter Audrey. Congratulations to Jason and girlfriend Kate on this special occasion. Jason will be back in action in August with PSYCROPTIC.

For the remaining shows on the tour Tony (from UNMERCIFUL) will be helping us out on vocals. We are sure US audiences will welcome Tony as warmly as they have welcomed us for the previous dates on the tour, which has been by far the best tour PSYCROPTIC has been apart of! We will return to the U.S. a LOT more after this tour, that is for sure.

Keep your eyes and ears open over the next few weeks as we are sure to post some new material and have a sneak peek of the art soon!”

AGATHODAIMON - SEEKS NEW VOCALIST

AGATHODAIMON are currently putting the finishing touches for their upcoming fifth album, Phoenix. However, the band is still searching for a new vocalist as permanent member!

Guitarist Sathonys explains:
"Please note that only applications from Germany are taken into consideration- thanks to all those people from around the globe who’ve shown their interest so far, but it’s of no use if a potential vocalist is living on another continent as we’re rehearsing often.

Until a new member is found, Jonas Iscariot will support us for upcoming gigs such as the one in Romania, on the 26th of July."

Skilled and motivated vocalists ONLY FROM GERMANY may send info/bio and samples of their work to
management@agathodaimon.de

SONIC SYNDICATE - WHAT IS THE PRESS SAYING ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM?

"I rarely come face to face with a band with such passion as Sonic Syndicate. What makes a great band is not only the music but the persons and personalities behind it, and once I got to know this band on our North American tour together, I realized what a powerful group they are!

Love And Other Disasters take their music to the next, higher level with more diversity, energy and an overall atmosphere that really appeals to me. Fantastic job guys `n gal!"
Tuomas Holopainen, NIGHTWISH

"In Flames, Soilwork and Killswitch Engage, fasten your seatbelts! – You all will watch Sonic Syndicate's dust! Love And Other Disasters right now is the pacemaker of its genre!"
METAL HAMMER GERMANY, Thorsten Zahn, Chief Editor

"Love And Other Disasters, the third record in band history, shows SONIC SYNDICATE evolving from their already hit potential singalong songs to a more diverse band that knows how to write classic after classic!"
METAL HAMMER GERMANY, Marcel Rudoletzky

"Another step further for this young band from Sweden. Wonderful choruses meet real heavyness. Modern metal must sound just like this!"
ROCKANTENNE BAYERN GERMANY, Thomas Moser

"Well produced radio rock, just perfect for fans of H.I.M. and Sunshine Avenue, catchy but heavy with lots of pop appeal and singalong hooklines."
PIRANHA Mag Germany

"Love And Other Disasters is many steps further into the right direction! The band avoides any kind of sluggishness and delivers the best fucking songs they've ever written!"
LEGACY Mag Germany, Patric Knittel

"Last year's risen star at the melodic modern metal sky shines brighter than ever: Heavy as hell but catchy and melodic at the same time, with killer hooklines and melodies, Sonic Syndicate fulfill each and every ounce of expectation they have been faced."
ROCK HARD Germany, Katharina Peifle

"The band is much more mature and their new record, is far more commercial but without being a sell-out. Right now, they are supporting In Flames. In a few years from now though, they are surely capable of taking the sceptres from them and be the leaders of the movement."
ROCK HARD Greece, Sakis Fragos

"Check this one out before you die! It´s definitely worth it!"
MTV, Ville Lipiainen

"The American melodic big production’s efficiency, coupled with Scandinavian Metal's extreme fury!"
ROCK MAG FRANCE

"More than a simple evolution, it's a giant leap. The band definitely
found its own way."
ROCK ONE FRANCE

"With this album Sonic Syndicate sounds already like a band with an impressive experience. Knowing the young age of the musicians, it is quite amazing, especially in a style of heavy metal which keeps an ear in the past and an eye on the future."
ROCK YOU - JPS

"Love And Other Disasters starts where Only Inhuman ended. Sonic Syndicate have found their own way of Swedish Metal and have definitely stepped up. Good work, good sound and a fantastic album!"
ROCKSOUND Mag Italy, Michele Zonelli

"A natural step further – heavy, catchy, with fantastic melodies and more varied than the former album. It is going to be a huge success!"
SCREAM Mag Norway, Stig Odegard

This concert follows on the heels of several very successful shows in Mexico, Cleveland, San Francisco, and New York; and the recent release of Rocket Scientists' ambitious 5-disc multimedia box set "Looking Backward" through Think Tank Media and ProgRock Records.

Rocket Scientists was formed in the late 1980s by keyboardist Erik Norlander and vocalist / guitarist Mark McCrite. The two released their first CD, "Earthbound", in 1993 joined by then - session bassist Don Schiff. Schiff quickly became a part of the band for their second release in 1995, "Brutal Architecture", and the three toured in the US and Europe in 1997 culminating in the live CD, "Earth Below and Sky Above: Live in Europe and America". In 1999, Rocket Scientists released "Oblivion Days", raising the bar on already high expectations. At the turn of the century, Norlander, Schiff and McCrite all worked on solo projects in addition to backing symphonic rock vocal icon Lana Lane on several tours around the world. After an eight year hiatus, Rocket Scientists released its fourth studio album "Revolution Road" in 2006 to high accolades from the press and fans worldwide.

In January, 2008, Rocket Scientists released their first box set entitled "Looking Backward", a 5-disc collection containing remastered versions of their first three studio albums, "Earthbound", "Brutal Architecture" and "Oblivion Days", along with a 4th audio CD of new recordings of classic Rocket Scientists songs reinterpreted by the band in 2007. The 5th disc is a DVD-9 containing video of the 2007 sessions along with extensive interviews and historical archive footage from sessions going back to 1993. May/June 2008

Well it's been a whole lot of fun, but it is with heavy heart that I must shut down Metal Warrants Radio. There are many reasons why that there really is no need to get into. The website will remain up. Just the station will go off line next week. I thank any of you here who have supported me over the past few years in this Interent venture. But as many of you already know, there are way too many "metal" Internet radio stations out there. Let's support one of them.

Till the next time........
